Hello,
Today is a special posting. I will be doing a first. You will pick most of or build my whole team for a game this weekend. I will not punk out. But you got to give me something to work with. I'm not the wizard of Oz so I can't turn crap into magic. The tournament is 800pts modern age. I will say what elements I picked up and what stayed at the side line. I have just about all the modern age objects and I have just about all the modern age figures minus some chases. At least I have a full CUR or everything since Superman set for sure.
All entries must be in by Thursday this week.
DUN DUN DUH!
Check you later,
Edward Shelton AKA DARKLOGOS
OK, so my entry will be a scientist theme team.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to make a ruler theme team with Gladiator with the Gauntlet, but it is hard to fit 9 rulers on a 800 point team.
So the team I came up with is;
10th anny #009A Iron Man @ 225
W/ Full Gauntlet @ 40
10th anny #005 Brianiac @ 160 Captain America #050 MODOK @160
10th anny #016 Blue Beatle @ 55
10th anny #004 Green Goblin @ 75
2X Hulk #002 Bruce Banner@ 55=110
2X Hulk #003 AIM Agent @38=76
Hulk #027 Amadeus Cho @ 59
Total = 800point scientist theme team
Just realized the whole team is 10th anny and Hulk—As I was looking at the team I saw that while the AIM agents are there primarily for support, If I added an AIM keyword with a higher point value they too can take advantage of the energy explosion. While I have been wanting to work that Brainiac into a team, I though MODOK served better on this team.
This team is pretty self-explanatory, but I will say my thoughts regardless. This team is basically offense on many levels. First and most evident is Iron Man with fully powered gauntlet. He will be immune to others resources while rocking people with his. Second, with the understanding that at 800 points there will be some swarm teams, this team exploits energy explosion. Late game the energy explosion bumping Banners can Ausie Hulk out for late match clean up. Let me know what you think. When I look at the team I can see that it will be hurt by stealth. With so much stealth currently in the Meta this may be a game breaker. In addition this team lacks mobility, with Iron Man and Green Goblin being the only carriers and no TK. As with every team there are good things about this team (damage output, resource counter, theme team bonuses, promotion/AE potential) as well as bad things (Mobility, weak against stealth, EE dependent on staying adjacent to banner.) Map choice will be huge with this team; luckily you will have a plus 9.

The idea here is that Strange puts out an astral then he and the Prof pick apart the enemy from the comfort of home. If anyone gets close, Master Mold (with gauntlet) lays waste to them.
Master Mold benefits from Tony Stark (who also nerfs opposing armor and robot keyworded figs). Cypher does his thing. Void is there not only for Support but also to relocate the lower-point figs if danger nears. Constantine can prob those distance attacks for Strange or X while shutting down the opponent's probs.
I think Master Mold will get that gauntlet cranked up in most games then totally destroy what's left of the opponent's team.
Tough team for sure. Much death will lay before it.
